APP Updates

Asian Disaster Preparedness Centre (ADPC) and the National Disaster Risk Reduction Centre (NDRC) Nepal have had a good relationship for a very long time around 2010. However, in 2016 when APP was introduced in Nepal NDRC and ADPC became strategically engaged in DRRM policy advocacy and some joint initiatives. After 10 years of informal association and affiliation, ADPC and NDRC Nepal came into the collaborative partnership in 2020 under the initiative of the Asian Preparedness Partnership (APP) and has been functioning as an implementing agency of the APP Nepal program under the Nepal Preparedness Partnership (NPP) lead by the Ministry of Home Affairs/National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority, (NDRRMA) Nepal.

NDRC Nepal is currently engaged with ADPC through:

Locally-led Actions for COVID-19 Preparedness and Response in APP Countries – Nepal ( June 2020)

Increased locally led actions to prepare for, respond to, and recover from disasters in Nepal (October 2020)

Institutionalized partnerships and multi-sector cooperation mechanisms
through a whole-of-society approach, Nepal
